Connect Current Crises to Bioprinting

An in-depth analysis of how three dimensional bioprinting could aid in relieving collateral damage within crises nations around the world

What is bioprinting?

Three dimensional bioprinting is the printing of organs using a three dimensional printer. Bioprinting is a process aided by the principles of stem cells, which are cells which can differentiate into any cell in the body. These cells are printed onto a mold made of a water based gel, and then allowed to grow and differentiate into the desired organ. Three dimensional bioprinting is a relatively new concept and still undergoing testing as a process, but has been widely successful so far. Traditionally bioprinting has been known to be fast, and has proven to cause less risk to the patient of rejection as in transplants.

About the Author

Hello. It's quite a large world out there that I'm writing to. As a tenth grader in high school, I feel that my experiences have set me on my path—being medicine—leading to my destination—being the operation room, hopefully. Through exploring the medical phenomenon that is bioprinting, as well as it's potential impacts, I believe I can incorporate my goals into my personal project. Enjoy, and please don't forget to share!

I learned so much about 3D bioprinting and crises happening in different countries. Although I do not take the subject biology, your site still managed to amaze me.

It was absolutely stunning and so informative. It’s an honor to read such websites. There is tremendous promise in this area, and when the technology does make it to the market, millions of people’s lives will be changed.

Your blog is very informative on this subject of bioprinting. This field is growing and innovating very fast and we need more young people to research and contribute to this field.
